We invite you to join with other churches, community groups, and our own members
in urban ministry at historic Immanuel Lutheran Church in north St. Louis.
Immanuel pioneered work among the city's poor 160 years ago.  In recent decades
Immanuel has started nationally-recognised programs for those in prison and their
families, housed refugees from Central American civil wars, and ministered to those
suffering with HIV/AIDS.   Currently, Immanuel's Sunday morning breakfast is hosted
by churches from around the St. Louis area, feeding 100-150 men, women, and
children weekly.   12-step groups hosted in our basement welcome 200-300 men and
women struggling with addiction.  The Prison Transportation Ministry started by
Immanuel still transports family members to visit inmates at Missouri prisons twice a
month.  And that is not to mention weekly worship services in the round featuring
Lutheran liturgics in an African-American style.

We have opportunities for both individuals and groups to serve.  So click on one of the
